Healthcare professionals, leaders, patient representatives and partners from across the region came together for the PiP Annual Conference 2026, held at The Hawthorns, West Bromwich, under the theme “Beyond Boundaries: Working Together for Better Care for Children.”
The conference provided an opportunity to share learning, strengthen professional networks and explore innovative approaches to improving outcomes and experiences for children, young people and their families. Delegates heard from a diverse range of speakers covering topics including integrated care, neighbourhood health, public health initiatives, patient engagement, weight management, cardiac assessment and escalation of care.
Throughout the day, speakers highlighted the importance of collaboration across organisations and services, demonstrating how partnership working can drive innovation, improve patient safety and support better outcomes for children and young people. The programme also showcased examples of service development and quality improvement taking place both regionally and nationally.
A particular highlight was hearing directly from young people involved in patient engagement activities, reinforcing the importance of ensuring that children, young people and families remain at the centre of service design and delivery.
The conference reflected the core purpose of Partners in Paediatrics: creating opportunities for professionals to learn together, share expertise, develop networks and strengthen collaboration across organisational boundaries.
